IS IT DIVERSITY OR TRINITY?___Dr. Frederick France (apostle of DIVERSITY)

The word ‘Trinity’ which was coined by the Roman father Tertuilian to describe God has over the centuries attracted several controversies and arguments not just because the word is unscriptural but because its description of our God is obviously not on point.

Almost every true believer reacts sharply against statements which suggest Christians worship three gods; however, our adherence to the word ‘Trinity’ weakens that stance.  The fact that our God is very passionate about His oneness cannot be overemphasized. Hear Jesus in Mark 12:29-30:And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,…”Meaning, if you do not see God as one, you cannot love Him with all of your heart, soul and mind. You will share your love among the number of deities you have in mind. James 2:19 also says “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble”. This also means, devils do not want you to believe there is one God. In other words, when Christians emphasize the oneness of their God, it disturbs satan. ‘Trinity’ therefore gives the devil a leeway.

Our God is undoubtedly one (with emphasis) but then, no one can deny the fact that He appears plural sometimes. Of course, that is why He is God! He has the ability to appear plural as well as singular, as He wills. For instance Genesis 1:26 says:“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…”That was God speaking to Himself in plural terms; but hear what the very next verse says: So God created man in his own image,…” – Genesis 1:27.

Nothing is impossible with our God! He can appear one; He can as well appear three; He can even appear ten, hundred, thousand, billion, trillion et cetera. For instance, can you count the number of believers on earth who have The Holy Ghost dwelling in them? God can multiply Himself in uncountable numbers yet He remains but one! And if one God appears three, the appropriate phrase to describe Him with, is not ‘Three in unity’ as in ‘Trinity’ but rather ‘One in Diversity’ as in 1 Corinthians 12:6: And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all”.

The scriptural word ‘DIVERSITY’ is what the philosophical word ‘TRINITY’ has been used to replace in Christian doctrine. The word ‘Trinity’ is not in the Bible because Tertuilian (a Roman church father) coined it. It is a human idea. It is a private interpretation of Scripture; and 2 Peter 1:20-21 frowns at such:“…no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. If the Holy Ghost did not move the writers of the Bible to write ‘Trinity’, how come we are forcing it on ourselves?

Beloved, the words in Scriptures were selected by the Holy Spirit Himself so it is doctrinally safe to stay with them. Isaiah 34:16 says “Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, …for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them”. The Holy Spirit did not select the word ‘Trinity’, which is why it is gendering so much confusion in the Christian doctrine. Most Christians who propagate ‘Trinity’ usually use Water, Vapour and Ice to illustrate it; but of course, that illustration rather supports Diversity and not Trinity! Water, vapour and ice are not united to form the same substance; they are rather the same substance in diverse forms.

One of the scriptures which the philosophical word ‘Trinity’ relies on is found in Matthew 28:19 which says “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Going through Scriptures you will realize that all the baptisms of the early church were done in the name of Jesus and not in the names of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost:(1)“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…” – Acts 2:38.(2) “(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus)” – Acts 8:16. (3)“When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus – Acts 19:5. Going by these scriptures it is obvious that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are none but Jesus.  That is what Colossians 2:8-9 affirms:“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily”. The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus! Jesus is not one of the three persons of God. He is the very God Almighty!

The philosophical word ‘Trinity’ falls within the bracket of the items the above scripture warns Christians about (Philosophy, traditions of men, rudiments of the world). ‘Trinity’ obviously appears deceitful and it should arouse suspicion in the body of Christ, most especially because it tampers with the very thing God is passionate about: His oneness! ‘Trinity’ makes God three ‘Diversity’ makes God one; ‘Diversity’ is a scriptural word ‘Trinity’ is not.

Beloved, if you claim to fear God, then you must stay with scriptural words! God does not want addition of words in His Scriptures. Rev 22:18-19 says “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book”.

Christians! It is very important that we stay with scriptural words when describing our God.  Please replace ‘Trinity’ with ‘Diversity’ and stay safe!
